Ink

Hey y’all! A painting today.

I normally don’t paint; I’m more of a colored pencil person but I had to for a class so I thought I’d try to keep my mind open and try to make the most of it. I actually really like the way it came out, and it wasn’t too bad! I did it with ink and a paintbrush, and I was able to play around with shadows and lighting which was fun. The picture I referenced was one that I took.

Are you a fan of painting? I never was but I think I might get into it now. What’s your favorite technique?

Winter?

Hey guys!
In honor of the first snow of the winter that happened this weekend here in New Jersey, I’ve decided to post some flower pictures, woo! Why? Because.

Took these a couple months ago at the Wyckoff Gardens. I’d heard about the place and wanted to go check it out for myself. Great place for a shoot, I wanna bring someone here for some portraits.

Let me know in the comments below what your favorite shot is!

Also, let me know if you’d rather have flowers on the grass or snow on the ground. Since it’s the beginning of winter and approaching Christmas, I love the snow. But that’s as of now… After a month I’ll be begging for flowers.

Now I wanted to take the time to update y’all. I’ve been inconsistent with posting lately, and I hate that. This time of the year’s when it gets busy, with finals in school and clubs and sports. I’ve been shooting – I won’t let anything interfere with that, and now I need the time to get everything organized. I’m not leaving, I’ll be here! Since things get hectic I might not be posting every weekend, but I’m working on it, believe me! Again, thanks for your constant support and encouragement, I appreciate it!

See you soon.

Diving into the Water

I have plunged into the water. I have fully immersed myself in the pool of photography, and it feels great.

I’ve been shooting with a nice Canon Powershot SX260 HS for the past year, and it has not disappointed me. The quality is great, especially considering its tiny body and seemingly limited lens. I’ve been happy with it, but recently I’ve realized I wanted something more. I wanted a camera with more features I could play around with, and I wanted to take my photography to a higher level.

For the past couple of months, I’ve been researching to find a DSLR I can learn and grow with, one that I could experiment with and have fun with. After narrowing down the poop ton of options I made for myself, I ended up settling on the Canon EOS Rebel T6. Small build for my small hands, awesome quality, great price, and all the features I need to begin! I received it last week as an amazing birthday present from my parents (Thanks mom and Bab, shout out to you) and I can tell you one thing – it was worth it, and I’m happy with the way it is working.

My bro took me to the city last week (the day after I got my camera) to celebrate my birthday, and he thought it’d make an awesome place to try it out. I took way too many pictures because I was like wooahhh this quality is amazing. I left the aperture, shutter speed, and ISO on auto for the duration of the trip because I wanted to take it to somewhere more calm to try it out before I messed everything up. I thought the city wasn’t a great place to start because I’d probably get trampled if I stood in the middle of the street attempting to adjust the settings like a fool. I am going to be posting lots of my New York pictures throughout the weeks to come, but I wanted to share a couple with y’all on this post. Here are some shots:

Can’t wait to share more with y’all, and I’m excited to learn and grow as I delve deeper into photography.

The City is so pretty. Have you been there?
